A delegation from the Defense Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka visited the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) on 03 August 2018.
The DSSC delegation was headed by Group Captain Halloluwage Dammika Nishantha Dias, Air Force.
BGen Rolando G Jungco, AFP (Ret), NDCP’s Executive Vice President, welcomed the delegation.
Defense Research Officer Mico Galang presented the NDCP briefing which jumpstarted the discussion.
During the open forum, some of the issues discussed include geopolitics, regional security, violent extremism, transnational crimes and NDCP programs.
The NDCP, as the government’s highest center for education, research and training on defense and national security, engages in defense diplomacy.
Exchange of visits and people-to-people exchange are critical elements of defense diplomacy. These contribute to confidence building between and among countries.
Since 2001, there are seven Sri Lankan graduates of the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program.
