The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) conducted a webinar on mental health on 28 May 2020, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM via Microsoft Teams.
The webinar featured two speakers. Fr James Wenceslao U Gascon SJ DMin, former President of the RMT- Center for Family Ministries (CEFAM) based at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), shared his insights on how to keep oneself mentally healthy in the time of pandemic. Dinah Palmera P Nadera MD, Resident Psychiatrist of the University of the Philippines Health Services, provided practical advice for women to ensure mental health as they deal with the competing demands at home and at work.
NDCP President BGen Archimedes H Viaje AFP (Ret) PhD MNSA CESE said in his closing remarks that the webinar underscores the College’s dedication to ensure the wellbeing of its personnel and students during the pandemic while performing its mandate.
He said, “The College remains dedicated in providing its unique services and in fulfilling its mandate as an education, training and research center on defense and national security.”
Dr Theresita V Atienza, NDCP’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean, delivered the Welcome Remarks. She is also the Vice Chairperson of the College’s Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System.
The webinar drew 107 participants composed of NDCP officials, faculty, personnel and members of the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program Regular Class 55.
Established in 1963, the NDCP is a bureau of the Department of National Defense (DND) and a degree-granting institution. It conducts the one-year MNSA program which explores the theory and practice of national security.
