NDCP Distinguished Speaker Lecture Features US DASD

The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) conducted a Distinguished Speaker Lecture featuring US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense on South and Southeast Asia, Joseph H Felter PhD, on 2 May 2018 at the NDCP Honor Hall.
Dr Felter delivered a lecture on “The Indo-Pacific Strategy Implementation of the United States of America.”
The Deputy Assistant Secretary serves as the US Department of Defense principal adviser on all matters concerning the development and implementation of defense strategies and plans for South and Southeast Asia regions. Felter is also heavily involved in bilateral security relations and multilateral engagements.
In his lecture, Dr Felter emphasized America’s resolved in maintaining a credible lethal force to back up US diplomacy in the region. He also underscored the need to work with partners and allies in pursuit of common interests.
Participants included representatives from the Department of National Defense (DND), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), civilian government agencies, non-government organizations, and the academe.
In line with its mandate, the NDCP conducts the Distinguished Speaker Lecture series, which features talks by senior government officials and prominent personalities about current political, defense, and security issues.
