The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), in celebration of the 2019 National Women’s Month, unveiled today a photo exhibit and launched a social media campaign entitled “Women Making Change.”
The photo exhibit and social media campaign showcase inspiring women who are epitome of courage and determination. As they grew tall in their respective fields, these empowered women broke through numerous glass ceilings, and cleared the path for other women, and even men to follow suit.
The photo exhibit and social media campaign features six women. It includes four alumni of the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program, namely, Judge Marilou D Runes-Tamang MNSA of the Regional Trial Court Branch 98; Dr Cecilia Ocaban Gan MNSA of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC); Director Aida Maria A Talavera MNSA of the Commission on Audit and Attorney Judy S Lopez MNSA of the Philippine National Police.
It also includes two officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), namely, Colonel Sharon G Gernale of the Philippine Air Force (PAF); and Commander Eileen Cartin-Domine of the Philippine Navy (PN).
The College believes that when all genders shatter all kinds of glass ceilings—biases, misperception, oppressive policies and practices, violence— every human being is able to reach their full potential. When this happens, the country becomes developed and secured.
The NDCP, through this campaign, engages the public in a conversation to bring out the best in every woman and man.
The Photo Exhibit is open for public viewing at the Ground Floor, NDCP Main Building, Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. It will run until 31 March 2019.
The NCP is the government’s highest center for education, training and research on national security and defense.
