Joining the SND in the ceremony were NDCP President RAdm Roberto Q Estioko AFP (Ret), PhD, MNSA, Mrs Cecilia P Estioko, and NDCP Executive Vice President BGen Rolando G Jungco AFP (Ret).
The new NDCP library will house a collection of 20,000 titles of reference books, academics, journals, periodicals, magazines, and research outputs. More than 30 desktop computers will be available for student use. It has multipurpose lounge and breakout rooms.
The new NDCP student dormitory is a 2-storey building with 15 double-bed rooms and and 8 family rooms at the second floor. It is equipped with basic residential facilities that can cater to the needs of international students of the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program.
In his remarks, SND Lorenza commended the College for its new world-class facilities.
He said that the new facilities will contribute positively towards NDCP’s mandate of preparing leaders for higher positions of responsibility and command.
SND Lorenzana also said that local government officials who have received some training from the NDCP seemed to be “more cooperative with and sympathetic to” the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The buildings were constructed with the generous support of Senator Loren B Legarda MNSA, a member of Regular Course (RC) 27.
The AFP Office of the Chief Engineers supervised the project Planning and construction.
The blessing of the new library and dormitory was administered by AFP Chief Chaplain BGen Tirso A Dolina AFP.
Also in attendance were senior officials of the DND and AFP, members of the MNSA RC 54 and NDCP officials and staff.
Located in Camp Gen Emilio Aguinaldo, NDCP is the government’s highest center for education, training and research on national defense and security.
