AMBASSADOR BAHJIN VISITS NDCP

Ambassador Ma Corazon Yap-Bahjin, Assistant Secretary for Personnel and Administrative Services of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), visited the College and met with a special project team led by NDCP President Commodore Carlos L Agustin AFP (Ret) on 19 June 2009.

Ambassador Bahjin delivered a presentation on Republic Act Nr 7157 otherwise known as the “Philippine Foreign Service Act of 1991”.

The meeting was conducted to generate inputs for the drafting of the Defense Executive Service Bill. The said bill aims to institutionalize a professional corps of defense civilians.

Present during the meeting were members of the project team on the said bill.

The NDCP is the program manager of the Philippine Defense Reform (PDR) program entitled Professional Development for Defense Civilians (PDDC). The drafting of a Defense Executive Service Bill is one of the deliverables of the said program.

PDR is a multi-year program which aims to institutionalize systemic changes in the Defense department. (Cloyde Cariño)
