(CBRN) International First Responder Training Program "Train the Trainer" Course

The Emergency Management Institute of the Philippines (EMIP) of the
National
Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) in collaboration with the
Embassy
of Canada in Manila will conduct the Chemical, Biological, Radiological
and
Nuclear (CBRN) International First Responder Training Program "Train the
Trainer" Course on September 5, 2006, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the NDCP
Honor Hall, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
According to Ms Marcy Borromeo, Acting Director, EMIP, participants in
this
activity should have attended either the International First Responder
Training Program on 30 January -2 February 2006 or the Intermediate
First
Responders Training Program on 10-11 August 2006. The training will be
conducted by experts from the Defense Research and Development Canada
(DRDC)-Counter-Terrorism Technology Centre (CTTC). The activity is
designed
to train future trainers to augment the capabilities of specialized
CBRN
responders.
The course will be opened by Commo. Mariano S. Sontillanosa,
Vice-President
for Research and Special Studies, NDCP and Ms.Theressa de Haan, Second
Secretary, Political/ Economic Relations and Public Affairs, Embassy of
Canada in Manila.
The CBRN course has been pre-selected jointly by the Canadian
government
and the Department of National Defense in order to fill the need for
trained
responders, crisis managers and emergency administrators in defense and
civil emergencies.
The following services and agencies are expected to send participants to
the
course: Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police,
Bureau
of Fire Protection, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Coast
Guard, Department of Health, Office of Civil Defense, Department of
Environment and Natural Resources, Metropolitan Manila Development
Authority, Philippine Nuclear Research Institute, UP-Philippine General
Hospital, and the Department of Agriculture. |
