“There is a need to understand that threats occur from intricate and oftentimes, interrelated dimensions of national security,” NDCP President Commodore Carlos L Agustin AFP (Ret) said.
“National security leaders and managers must continue to learn and enhance their skills to harmonize concepts, principles, and theories with the practice of national security management and administration,” said Commodore Agustin.
The 5-day ECNS, designed for executives and senior managers in the government and private sector, Local Chief Executives (LCEs) and senior military and police officers, aims to provide participants a comprehensive understanding of the theory and practice of national security.
The course is divided into four Modules, as follows:
Module 1 explains the National Security Framework which provides the foundations, basic concepts and principles of national security.
Module 2 analyses the various dimensions of national security and how they are interrelated.
Module 3 focuses on key issues such as insurgency and the 2010 automated elections to update and re-tool national security leaders to effectively respond to emerging security challenges.
Module 4 engages the participants in an interactive discussion and workshop to synthesize their learning from the course and formulate doable plans.
The ECNS also attempts to examine the National Internal Security Plan (NISP) and formulate courses of action for implementation within the national security framework.
The deadline for nomination is 23 February 2010. Participants will be required to pay a modest fee of Php 6,000.00 (government sector) or Php 10,000 (private sector) to cover meals & kits for 5 days
