The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), through the Philippine Center of Excellence in Defense, Development, and Security (PCEDS), launched Kinaadman 360: An MNSA Research Exhibit on 14 December 2021, showcasing the best theses of the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) Regular Class 55.
Amid declining coronavirus cases last December, PCEDS was able to simultaneously launch the event on-site at the NDCP Bridge and virtually through 360 photo-video technology. The virtual tour was a collection of 360-degree panoramic rotating images that were stitched together to form a full view of the location, providing an immersive experience for the Collegeโ€™s stakeholders.
In his speech, BGen Archimedes H Viaje AFP (Ret), PhD, MNSA, CESE, President of the NDCP, said the Centerโ€™s undertaking facilitates far-reaching communication and closer interaction with the NDCPโ€™s stakeholders despite the limitations posed by the ongoing global health crisis. He also noted that the exhibit is a tangible reminder of the goal to inspire a life-long passion for learning and help the Philippinesโ€™ national security leaders become the best version of themselves.
RC 55 graduates Judge Maria Josefina San Juan-Torres and Assistant Secretary James A Layug were physically present during the launch of the exhibit. Other best thesis awardees that were recognized during the event were Col Roderick A Balbanero CAV (MNSA) PA, Ms Donna M Rodriguez, Col Sheillah Graces Estrera-Vicenta (MNSA) PAF, LtCol Vigneswari Viswanathan, Col Francis Anthony M Coronel INF (MNSA) PA, and Col Ranulfo A Sevilla INF (MNSA) PA.
The term “Kinaadman” is a Visayan term for knowledge, wisdom, and learning. It represents the outcome of the MNSA journey of NDCP students, which is documented in their research outputs. The PCEDS-led exhibit ran until 31 December 2021. The project is also part of an effort to build the Centerโ€™s capacity in supporting the publication of research and reports of the MNSA program.
