A total of 45 senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) completed the National Security Studies Program (NSSP).
The graduates include 36 from the Philippine Army, 5 from the Philippine Air Force, 2 from the Philippine Navy, 1 from the Judge Advocate General Service, and 1 from the Medical Corps.
During the virtual graduation ceremony held on 14 April 2021, the Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin N Lorenzana congratulated the NSSP graduates and encouraged them to advocate the close and inseparable relationship between development and security.
In the same speech, the Secretary of the National Defense also underscored that national security should never be parochial and isolated from global trends.
Furthermore, Secretary Lorenzana acknowledged the contribution of the College in promoting defense and security. He said that, “the pandemic has not stopped NDCP from providing security and defense courses to our senior colonels.”
Per DND Department Circular Number 16 dated 1 September 2020, the NSSP is a 12-week bridging program for AFP officers in the O-6 grade who are qualified to occupy O-7 positions.
