A total of 78 senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have completed the National Security Studies Program (NSSP) Class 05 of the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP). They are composed of 49 from the Philippine Army, 3 from the Philippine Air Force, 15 from the Philippine Navy, and 11 from the Technical and Administrative Services. The Class also consists of four (4) students from the Office of the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attache (OPhilDAFA) who represent the Department of National Defense (DND) and the AFP in Cambodia, India, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
The College conducted the graduation activities for the members of NSSP Class 5 on 14-15 December 2023. During the Interfaith Thanksgiving Ceremony held on December 14, representatives from various religious denominations–Islam, Evangelical Christianity, and Roman Catholic–led the prayers and thanksgiving message.
During the Graduation Ceremony the day after, December 15, NDCP recognized various awardees who excelled in academic work at NSSP. They are COL ROPER JOHN B ESTEPA JAGS (GSC) (1st place), COL MOH YUSOP HASAN PA (GSC) (2nd place), and COL SILAS D TRASMONTERO (INF) PA (GSC) (3rd place).
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), Gen Romeo S Brawner Jr PA, graced the occasion and congratulated the NSSP Class 5 graduates and encouraged them to provide the strategic vision, steadfast leadership, and unwavering dedication that our security demands.
