A delegation from the Korean National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) headed by Dr Wongie Choe paid a visit to the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) on 5 June 2023 to discuss the Philippines’ current foreign and national security policies. The team from KNDA was composed of members of the Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies, a research unit of the academy that carries out policy-oriented studies on international relations.
The topics covered during the visit include Manila-Seoul relations, strategic competition, and geopolitical dynamics, among others.
Meanwhile, Prof Dr Renato De Castro, Module Director for NSA 209: International Security Affairs, delivered a presentation concerning the Philippines’ emerging foreign and defense policies.
Highlighting the favorable relations between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea, LtGen Ferdinand M Cartujano PAF(Ret), President of the NDCP, said the partnerships that were built during the previous decades proved to be valuable and were further strengthened as the two partners collaborate on improving defense and security capabilities.
“I believe that our small but intimate gathering here today is a testament to that deeper and mature bond between our nations as the National Defense College of the Philippines is given the privilege to host the delegation from the Korea National Diplomatic Academy,” LtGen Cartujano noted.
