A delegation from the National Resilience Institute of Indonesia, also known as LEMHANNAS RI, paid a visit to the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) on 5 September 2023. Headed by Air Vice Marshal Palito Sitorus, S.I.P., M.M., the delegation was part of the institute’s Short Regular Education Program XXIV.
During the activity, the Research and Special Studies Division (RSSD) of the NDCP provided an institutional briefing to the delegates of LEMHANNAS RI and facilitated open discussions among the participants. Select students from the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) Regular Class 58 were also present at the event. The LEMHANNAS RI delegates, NDCP officials, faculty, and staff exchanged views about the role of NDCP in training strategic leaders and contributing to national security policy-making. They also shared perspectives on pressing regional security issues.
In his closing remarks, LtGen Ferdinand M Cartujano PAF (Ret), President of the NDCP, underscored the importance of the partnership between the Philippines and Indonesia, attributing the two countries’ shared security concerns and common interests in maintaining stability in the region.
“We share the commitment to LEMHANNAS’ mission to provide higher defense education to be more adept at strategic, political, and national defense levels. We concur that through education, we can progress and ensure a stronger nation,” LtGen Cartujano added.
