In line with its Research Agenda 2020-2022, the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) conducted the Colloquium on the Future of Philippine Warfare Volume II on 25 March 2022 via video teleconferencing.
Building on the work laid down by Volume I, Future of Philippine Warfare Volume II aims to deepen critical discussions on Philippine defense in order to contribute to the review, refocusing, and reconstructing of the AFP’s modernization and transformation programs.
Representatives from the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, and the Philippine Navy presented their respective papers during the Colloquium. In the spirit of academic freedom and non-attribution, officers from various units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines participated in the activity.
Among the issues discussed during the open forum were the role of Southeast Asia as a geopolitical space vis-à-vis defense planning, non-military dimensions of the theory of victory, role of the General Headquarters in relation to the AFP’s theory of victory, and cybersecurity.
The publication of the second volume of the project is set for the second quarter of 2022.
