The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) hosted the “Roundtable Discussion on Strategies for Countering Terrorism: Lessons Learned from Israel” on 30 April 2018.

The discussion featured subject matter experts and officials from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Col Eytan Yitshak (Res) is the Deputy Director of the Counter Terrorism and Homeland Security of the Israeli National Security Council, under the Prime Minister’s Office. He had served as the Haifa District Commander in the Home Front Command of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Director of the Counter Terrorism Bureau at the National Security Council.
Mr Yossi Adler is the Senior Intelligence Director of the Counter Terrorism and Homeland Security at the Israeli National Security Council. He had served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) form 1984 to 2016.
Mr Nevo Barchad is the Deputy Head of Regional Security and Counter Terrorism Department at the Strategic Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Participants included representatives from the Department of National Defense (DND), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), civilian government agencies, non-government organizations, and the academe.
Israeli Ambassador Effie Ben Matityau also attended the said forum.
In line with its mandate, the NDCP conducts policy fora in order to, among others, provide a platform of dialogue among experts within and from outside the country, bringing together stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.
