The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), in partnership with the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) and the AFP Office for Strategic Studies and Strategy Management (AFP-OSSSM), conducted the 12th Heneral Antonio Luna Colloquium on 10 December 2019 at the NDCP Honor Hall.
The colloquium featured the Indian Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Jaideep Mazumdar, and the Dean of the UP Asian Center, Professor Joefe Santarita PhD.
The colloquium’s theme was “Acting East: India’s Role in the Indo-Pacific and Southeast Asia.”
Presentations and the open forum covered defense and security, geopolitical and socio-economic issues, including the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue or the Quad, regional security architecture, foreign policy towards China, Philippines-India bilateral relations, socio-cultural ties with Southeast Asian nations, and the role of India in regional peace and stability.
Participants came from the military, civilian government agencies, academe, non-government organizations, and the private sector.
The Heneral Antonio Luna Colloquium Series provides a platform for free academic discussion of issues affecting Philippine defense and security. It is a trimestral activity regularly conducted by NDCP, OSSSM, and FSI.
