NDCP kick-starts National Security Studies Program (NSSP) Class-02
In line with the mission of the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) to prepare and develop potential national security leaders for high positions of responsibility and command, the NDCP convened NSSP Class 02 on 26 May 2021, via video-conferencing.
Per DND Department Circular Number 16 dated 1 September 2020, the NSSP is a 12-week bridging program for the officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the O-6 grade who are qualified to occupy O-7 positions. It is intended to equip senior military officers to become national security specialists and strategic leaders of the AFP. The program is delivered through discussions with experts and practitioners who possess a wide range of experiences, as well as theoretical and practical knowledge on national security. The NSSP also enhances the students’ professional network and strengthens decision-making skills.
The 61-strong NSSP Class-02 is composed of 37 students from Philippine Army, 9 from Philippine Air Force, 12 from Philippine Navy, 2 from the Technical and Administrative Service, and 1 from the Medical Corps (Reserve).
