The National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), through the Philippine Center of Excellence in Defense, Development, and Security (PCEDS), launched the pilot class of the Executive Master in National Security Administration (E-MNSA) Program on 17 July 2020.
Speaking at the opening ceremony via Zoom, Secretary of National Defense Delfin N Lorenzana commended the NDCP for continuing to perform its mandate by launching the E-MNSA program amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
NDCP President BGen Archimedes H Viaje AFP (Ret) PhD MNSA lauded the E-MNSA faculty, led by the Program Head Dr Gloria Jumamil-Mercado MNSA, for developing a program that is consistent with the desired outcomes of the regular MNSA and designed to be delivered in a blended learning approach.
The E-MNSA is a 39-unit master’s program on the theory and practice of national security. It combines online synchronous and asynchronous learning sessions and face-to-face classes.
Deputy House Speaker and Antique Representative Loren B Legarda MNSA encouraged the members of the pilot class to maximize their learning experience to further capacitate themselves to become national security leaders and managers. She delivered her remarks via Zoom.
E-MNSA Class 1 brings together 55 high-level government officials and senior managers from the private sector.
Established in 1963, the NDCP is the government’s highest center for education, training and research on defense and national security.
