As part of its efforts to engage its counterparts in Southeast Asia, the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) participated in the Network of ASEAN Defence and Security Institutions (NADI) Workshop on Emerging Technologies and their Impact on Defense and Security held via CISCO Webex on 29-30 September 2021.
The NDCP partnered with the AFP Office for Strategic Studies and Strategy Management (OSSSM) for the Philippine presentation about drones and their ethical, legal, and political implications in relation to warfare.
NADI is an independent Track II body that provides a platform for academic discussion on defense and security issues wherein participants are free to think even beyond their respective governments’ positions. NADI participants also strive to think ahead of the curve and anticipate emerging defense and security challenges.
Ideas and recommendations generated in NADI are submitted by the Workshop Chair to the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) through the ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADSOM).
Because of the pandemic, NADI has been on virtual mode since 2020
