In line with its thrust for international defense and security engagement, the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) took part in the Track II Network of ASEAN Defense and Security Institutions (NADI) Workshop on “The Value and Role of Military History in Enhancing and Maintaining Peace, Security and Practical Cooperation in the Region” held virtually on 12-13 October 2021.
The NDCP President, Dr Archimedes H Viaje MNSA CESE, delivered a presentation on “The Historical Role of the Philippines in United Nations Security Efforts.”
The General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia organized and chaired the international workshop, which was conducted via Zoom.
NADI is an independent Track II body that provides a platform for academic discussion on defense and security issues wherein participants are free to think even beyond their respective governments’ positions. NADI participants also strive to think ahead of the curve and anticipate emerging defense and security challenges.
Ideas and recommendations generated in NADI are submitted by the NADI Chair to the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) through the ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADSOM).
Because of the pandemic, NADI has been on virtual mode since 2020.
