The Philippine Center of Excellence in Defense, Development, and Security (PCEDS) of the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) released a new version of the Kinaadman journal on 12 December 2023 at the NDCP Honor Hall, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo.
A Visayan term meaning knowledge, wisdom, and learning, the third iteration of Kinaadman featured the best theses of the Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program’s Regular Class 56. The research journal also underscores how the studies contribute to the Philippines’ information and data involving the national security and defense sector.
Recognized during the launching ceremony were the gold awardees, Col Leah L Santiago PA, MNSA, and MGen Lanka Amarapala, MNSA, of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces. Other awardees that were recognized are silver awardees Col Narciso B Nabulneg Jr PA, MNSA; Col Jimmy V Jimenez PA, MNSA; Col Ronaldo C Mateo PA, MNSA; as well as bronze awardees Col Gremel B Brual PA, MNSA; and Rep Divina Grace C Yu of the 1st District of Zamboanga del Sur.
In his closing remarks, LtGen Ferdinand M Cartujano PAF (Ret), President of NDCP, emphasized that the research outputs of the College, especially those from the MNSA program, have the potential to spark conversations, influence policy, and drive positive change in the broader defense establishment.
“From the intricacies of scientific research to the nuanced examinations of societal issues, the theses span a spectrum that mirrors the rich tapestry of academic inquiry. It is a testament to the intellectual curiosity and fearlessness exhibited by the students of MNSA RC 56,” President Cartujano added.
