RESEARCH AND SPECIAL STUDIES DIVISION

Many security threats to the Philippines are non-military in nature. Pressing security concerns like terrorism, poverty, and environmental degradation, need to be addressed in an informed and intelligent manner.

The Research and Special Studies Division administers the research program of the NDCP. It embodies the College’s effort to be the center of excellence in strategic thinking on national security matters in the Philippines and in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Research and Special Studies Division (RSSD) undertakes research activities in accordance with the Research Agenda of the College. Its research work is supported by a comprehensive computerized databank on national, regional, and global security. The RSSD also participates actively and plays an increasingly major role in national security policy research and advocacy in the Philippines and in the Asia Pacific region
