The United States Army War College (USAWC) delegates, headed by Col James A Frick, visited the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) on 24 April 2023 as part of their regional travel.
The NDCP President, LtGen Ferdinand M Cartujano PAF (Ret), the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, Dr Alan A Lachica, and the Acting Chief of the Research and Special Studies Division and concurrently the Public Information Officer, Mr Manmar C Francisco, received the USAWC delegation.
During their engagement, both institutions delivered briefings about their respective organizations and shared views regarding regional security, deterrence, multilateralism, diplomacy, defense priorities, threat assessment, and cooperation.
NDCP President LtGen Cartujano, in his remarks, highlighted the importance of engagements between defense educational institutions in order to discuss pressing issues. He also encouraged both NDCP and USAWC participants to continue pursuing studies and putting forward policy recommendations that uphold core values, democratic institutions, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
The NDCP’s core faculty, select students, researchers, and other NDCP officials participated in the said engagement.
